Law School Is Not Fun

Or at least exams and papers are not fun. Right now I am sitting in a carrel in the library and I happen to be sitting next to an LLM student. This is someone who is getting a Legal Law Masters...this is one degree beyond a law degree. Right now he is studying something for some exam he has coming up. All I keep thinking is that he has already graduated from law school. He finished all his papers and exams and got a degree and for some reason decided to punish himself further with more school. What was he thinking!? I finished college and I didn't have to take another exam ever again yet here I am in law school. What was I thinking!?

Grad school is not fun either! After 2 months of field work, data crunching, lab analysis, proposal writing, research assistant data crunching and lab analysis, and finally class work and a committee meeting, I decided I must be crazy for this as well. Wow, I long for the carefree days as an undergraduate again... Did I mention working every evening too? Oh and being so far behind that I feel like I should be fired (is that possible?). Now I REALLY long to be an undergrad... only having classes was a dream! (i don't mean those ridiculous one exam law classes- at least in grad school the assignments only require thought and not memorizing)

So basically the song "Tied to the Whippin' Post" byt the Allman Brothers would be entirely appropriate?
