Where My Constituents At?

Brad and I went to see X-Men on Friday night. It was OK, not as good as the others. Anyway, Brad always leaves the TV on for the dog when we're gone. That night he set it to C-Span (you have to find a channel that is least likely to have a dog barking). When we got home I looked at the little bar to see the description of who was speaking. It was a reverend speaking on behalf of the Hip Hop Caucus. The what?! The Hip Hop Caucus. The bar went away and I waited for it to come back just to make sure that's what it really said. It did. It really said Hip Hop Caucus. It's real. Check, check, check, check it out. Hip Hop is All About Senate Process.

Fun with Army Regulations

Here's some excerpts from real Army Regulations:

* Many ineffective officers are attractive, handsome, decent, educated, honorable, intelligent and generous, and yet ineffective. It is perfectly proper to give an officer credit for his good qualities in the same letter or efficiency report which reveals his ineffectiveness as an officer.

- well, at least he's handsome

* Why there is an Army Writing Program: Too much Army writing does not communicate well.

- well, that sentence looks good

* Extreme, eccentric, or trendy haircuts or hairstyles are not authorized. If soldiers use dyes, tints, or bleaches, they must choose those that result in natural hair colors. Colors that detract from a professional military appearance are prohibited. Therefore, soldiers should avoid using colors that result in an extreme appearance. Applied hair colors that are prohibited include, but are not limited to purple, blue, pink, green, orange, bright (fire-engine) red, and fluorescent or neon colors.

- What!? Is that fire-engine red soldier!?

More to come as I find them....

Feeling Better

I am finally feeling better. It's a little cool and overcast here. It will probably rain soon. I haven't done anything interesting this weekend. I was going to go to the Renaissance Festival but just didn't seem to make it. I did watch the whole mini series Band of Brothers all the way through. I've seen it before but this time I could watch one episode right after the other because I have the box set. Well Brad has the box set. Actually I gave it to Brad as a Christmas present and when I got down here to Atlanta it was still in plastic. Is it bad that I bought someone a gift and then opened it?
